Diabetes in Pregancy Screening

Diabetes in Pregnancy - it's all about your baby

Starting with all women of child bearing age, screening for sustained abnormal blood sugars before you become pregnant can save your baby. Unfortunately, it's hard to tell without checking.

Diabetech offers a screening program that will tell you and your doctor if your blood sugar levels are in the normal range, borderline or if you are one of over 4 million women with undiagnosed diabetes in the USA. Many babies are born every year to mother's who didn't realize that they had high blood sugar levels and only became aware sometime after the first trimester when all of the critical organ development has already occurred. Don't let this happen to your baby. All it takes is a simple kit called HomeCheck that you use at home or in your doctor's office. It takes about 3 minutes and only requires a small drop of blood.

HomeCheck A1c features simple operation

Step 1 - Get Ready

  • wash your hands
  • completely dry your hands

Step 2 - Test

  • prick your finger (disposable lancing device included)
  • use the A1c sample collection device to collect a small drop of blood
  • insert sample collection device into the fluid containing vial – cap it.

Step 3 - Go

  • seal the prepaid mailer carton
  • drop it in the mail
    You're done!

In approximately 7 days your results are automatically made available to you and authorized members of your care team and social network in your mygluco electronic health record.

What makes HomeCheck different is the convenience, simplicity and most importantly how the mygluco programs help you take advantage of the results.
